Salt Lake City has one of the highest concentrations of plastic surgeons per capita in the United States, driven by a young, image-conscious population, a strong medical-training pipeline at the University of Utah, and high demand for both surgical and non-surgical aesthetics. The upside for patients is choice and specialization.
02What is the difference between a facial plastic surgeon and a plastic surgeon?
Facial plastic surgeons complete a residency in otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) followed by a fellowship focused solely on the face, and are certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. General plastic surgeons train across the whole body. Both can be excellent; for the nose, eyelids, ears and facelift, face-only volume is a real advantage.
